Anchorage at Le Cannelle (42° 35’ 12’’N, 11° 06’ 29’’ E) is found immersed in a natural landscape of rocks and caves, in a setting dominated by the green of the Maremma Natural Park (http://www.parco-maremma.it) and the blue of the waters, here particularly suitable for snorkelling. The beach lies beneath a tower (http://www.parco-maremma.it/web/arte_cultura/torre_cannelle.htm), situated in an incomparable position overlooking the whole coast from the Ombrone River to as far as the island of Giglio. The construction is from the 16th century and, although considerably altered in respect to its original structure, it still maintains all its important features of 16th-century towers.
